The classroom for conference interpreting is truly impressive. There are four spacious booths for interpreters, an advanced videoconference system to hold virtual classes, and a unique design that is based on the project of Olga Egorova – the director of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation.
Stefaan provided detailed information on the training module functions of the conference equipment, the possibilities of working with various text materials, audio and video files and presentations, of recording students’ interpretation and combining several tracks into one file for further analysis, etc.
As early as on May 3 and 4, virtual classes with the Metropolitan University, London, and the University of Geneva took place in the classroom, and its new features (4 interpreting booths for simultaneous interpretation practice, record of interpretation, etc.) allowed the trainers of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation to take the training of master students to the new level, making the conducted video classes even more interactive and useful not only for direct participants, but for all other students.
