Interpreter of MFA Russia Gives a Lecture at CITS
Timofey Mineyev, the Third Secretary of the Linguistic Support Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has given a lecture for MA students of CITS.
The interpreter shared his unique experience of working for the Linguistic Support Department of MFA Russia and a few interesting cases he had during his work. He paid special attention to the interpretation of speakers with accents and difficulties that arise while interpreting their speeches.
The lecture was based on practical cases, which gave our MA students an opportunity to experience the difficulty of simultaneous interpretation and think about how to find a solution in such cases.
Timofey Mineyev also highlighted the process of preparation for interpretation. He shared useful sources and gave valuable advice on how to search information fast and efficiently. This aspect was of great interest to the students, who found both practical benefits and inspiration to develop their professional career in the lecturer’s recommendations.
At the end of the lecture, the students asked their questions of interest, and Timofey Mineyev gladly answered them and shared additional insightful recommendations. The profound knowledge and expertise of the MFA interpreter amazed the students of CITS.
