Interpretation for the President of The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology
On the 25th of May 2016 the master students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation had the privilege to interpret Edward Crowley, the Founding President of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics and of Engineering Systems at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Within the framework of his visit, he made a presentation for the heads and the faculty of Astrakhan State University on implementation of the Worldwide CDIO Initiative and development of students’ leadership skills.
Karina Kulova and Yana Malinovskaya, master students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation, delivered consecutive interpretation for Professor Crowley. The students felt confident, as they came across the topic of implementation of the Worldwide CDIO Initiative many times in the course of their translation practical training. At the end of his presentation, Mr. Crowley proposed to discuss the topic and answered the audience’s questions.
The master students did an excellent job and the discussion was quite lively. Professor shared the details of the leadership skills training lessons with the audience, described the tasks given to students and potential benefits of this initiative for them.
Another successful arranged meeting proves once again that the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation provides future interpreters with various opportunities to enhance their translation and interpretation skills working with ASU’s foreign guests.
