Classes with Liam Long, Leading European Commission Interpreter
In a little while, the first-year students will be honored to become the second-year Master students, and, of course, they are to be ready to such changes, because the responsibility for the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation reputation will be put on them.
And the classes with Liam Long, the leading European Commission interpreter and quite a frequent and welcome guest in the Astrakhan State University, are the best way to check their progress.
As part of the classes the students showed the skills of consecutive and simultaneous interpretation into Russian, English and German languages they acquired, acted as speakers, assessed each other’s performance and commented on it. The classes turned out to be quite fruitful, as Liam Long shared his professional experience with the students and gave them some advice to improve the interpretation technique, he also noted the Master students achieved progress both in foreign language and interpretation skills enhancement.
We will be looking forward to the beginning of a new academic year and meeting with Liam Long to tap into his valuable experience and learn something new from our Brusselian colleague once again.
