March 31, 2015 MA students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation  held a mock conference devoted to the legacy of the Olympic Games, a year after the Olympic Games in Sochi. A classroom was turned into a press conference venue, where students submitted their reports. The chairman, the first year student Yana Malinovskaya, opened the conference. In her welcoming address she greeted all the participants, Chairmen of Organizing Committees for the Olympic Games from different countries and cities. Then Anastasia Antonova spoke on behalf of the representative of Barcelona Organizing Committee. She reported what became of Olympic Games facilities in Spain. Then Yana Malinovskaya took the floor speaking on behalf of the Vice-President of Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee  who chaired the conference as well. Yana Malinovskaya’s report covered the modern use of Olympic infrastructure in Sochi, as well as further plans for the Olympic Games legacy. All the speakers called future Olympic hosts to maintain Olympic Games legacy properly. Of course, simultaneous interpretation was provided during the conference. It should be noted, that all MA students performed the interpretation. For first year students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation it was the first experience in  organizing the conference and providing interpreting services during  the whole event. The conference was interpreted from English into Russian, from French into Russian and from Russian into English. Well-organized and high-quality interpreting is worth mentioning. As any other official event the work of the conference was covered by the press.

Journalists represented by Olga Lukhmanova, Karina Kulova and Emma Lavigne had questions for the speakers concerning the subject of their speeches.

The conference was very useful for all the participants as it expanded their

knowledge and  developed their interpreting skills. At the end of the class all students were given valuable feedbacks regarding their work.
