BX3_HcZIIbQOn April 14, 2016 MA students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation participated in a virtual class with the Universities of Geneva and Ljubljana. The trilateral dialog was dedicated to the migration crisis. During the class participants addressed issues of the current state of affairs in the EU, reasons for and ways of the crisis management. The first speech was delivered in German by Lars Felgner from the University of Ljubljana. The first year MA student Irina Matveeva interpreted the speech into the Russian language meanwhile the student of the University of Ljubljana- into Slovenian.  It is noteworthy that the speech was very vivid and expressive. It seemed that migration issue is a touchy subject for Mr. Felgner.  Then the floor was given to Bruce Leimsidor, a professor of the Ca’ Foscari University.
Mr. Leimsidor addressed his speech to the current situation in the EU as well as the measures that Angela Merkel takes to settle the migration crisis. Despite high speed and intensity of the speech the MA students succeeded. Professors appreciated their work giving particular attention to the interpretation of the 1 year student of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation Natkhina Ekaterina. Manuela Motta, a speaker from the University of Geneva delivered the last speech in the French language.  Mrs. Motta touched upon such aspect of the migration issue as climate changes – as a result of particular climate changes some regions become uninhabitable and people have to leave. The second year MA student Anastasiya Antonova provided the interpretation into the Russian language. In the follow-up of the virtual class the professors from three universities discussed some important aspects of the interpretation activity and expressed their hope to hold another class in the nearest future.
