Virtual class with the Boğaziçi University

On April, 14 we had a virtual class with the Boğaziçi University (Boğaziçi Üniversitesi). Six students (including students from Astrakhan State University and three students from Boğaziçi University) took part in the lesson. The virtual class was devoted to ecological issues namely the ecological situation and main problems on the Black and Caspian seas and the sea of Marmara. The interpretation was performed into Russian from Turkish (by the 1st year MA student Liliya Petrova), from Azerbaijani (by the student of the Faculty of foreign languages Arina Gafarova) and from English (by the 1st year MA student Anastasiya Eremeeva). The Boğaziçi University students consecutively interpreted into Turkish and English. As all VC participants pointed out, the lesson was quite efficient: the Astrakhan students were commented on by the teachers of the Caspian Higher School of Interpretation and Translation who could also comment on the Boğaziçi University students’ interpretation into English.

And, of course, the virtual class itself, original speeches and interpretation of participants were simultaneously interpreted by the MA students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpretation and Translation as well as by students of interpretation departments of the Faculty of foreign languages who more and more actively join our virtual classes with foreign organizations and universities.
