CITS Holds an Interpretation Conference with Oil and Gas Experts

On May 15, CITS held an interpretation conference involving oil and gas industry specialists. The event was attended by Pavel Kulichkin, an instrumentation engineer at NNK-Sakhalinmorneftegaz, Andrey Shevchenko, a Schlumberger maintenance and repair technician, and Aleksandr Saprykin, a chief expert of the automated control system, Lukoil Uzbekistan Operating Company.

The experts spoke about their experience in the oil and gas industry, some challenges of working in this sphere, and the specificity of office and field work. Two speeches were given for simultaneous interpretation, and one for note-taking consecutive interpretation.

The students had a chance to practice technical interpretation and work with terminology. At the end of the conference, the professors gave detailed comments on their performance.
