A Training for Foreign Language Faculty Teachers

A training on “Hi-tech multimedia kit usage technique for teaching of simultaneous interpretation and conference logistics” for foreign language faculty teachers took place on 17/11/2016. It was initiated by the Institute of Language headed by Ms. Egorova Olga, professor, PhD of Philology. The event was held by Ms. Krylova Ekaterina, specialist of “Center of simultaneous interpretation and translation/interpretation studies”, in a simultaneous interpretation classroom equipped with the state-of-art hardware.  The aim of the event was to explain to the teachers, engaged in various language and interpretation disciplines, the main principles of the equipment functioning, so that they could use it during the simultaneous interpretation classes.
Teachers of Roman and English Philology chairs as well as the Chair of English for Humanitarian Specialties took part in the training. The training participants remarked the necessity of such workshops and were astounded with the hardware rich capacities, letting alone the masterclass coach’s professionalism and her skills of the equipment handling.
There is one more similar professional development event for the teachers of the foreign languages faculty to happen by the end of the year. The initiative will help to take the interpreters’ training to a new level.
