c2lskvidrtwThere are new students enrolled in the master degree program of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation! This time our first-year students are joined by Elnur Zhumagaliev and Nurzhan Orazgali who came to our city in the framework of the joint master program of Astrakhan State University and the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The foreign students only spent two weeks here, but are willing to express their impressions of the study at the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation and life in Astrakhan. “We have spent two weeks in a new country, a new city, at a new university. And, you know, we enjoy the atmosphere! Here we see friendly people, good weather, beautiful parks and places of interest, unique architecture.
elemwnp12fmFirst of all, we would like to tell about the university and studies. ASU is not like the ENU at all. For instance, one lesson lasts only 50 minutes in Astana, whereas here it lasts a good 90 minutes what is quite unusual for us. But still these universities have much in common, for example, good people! We received a very warm welcome. It took us a couple of days to feel at ease here: on the very first day, our group mates showed us the city and told us much interesting about it. The weather in Astrakhan deserves to be described separately. The climate is mild, not cold. You may say, “Nothing of the sort! It is cold up here!”, and meanwhile it is snowing in Astana.
On the very first day, we decided to see the main local places of interest: we had enough time to see the Peter the Great monument, the Lady with the Dog monument, the Volga embankment, the Astrakhan Kremlin, etc. This city is cozy in its own way. In a certain sense, it is similar to some European cities that preserved their history: the same low-rise old buildings, quiet streets, a lot of trees. Having spent a couple of weeks in Astrakhan, in particular, at the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation, we realized that our trip is worthy. Every day we learn something new, gain new life experience. We are sure our study at the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation would be fruitful and eventful!”
