CITS Contributes to Inclusive Development in Our Region
Advanced course Basics of Russian Sign Language, Interpreting Peculiarities, and Cultural Patterns of the Deaf has been completed at CITS.
The course lasted three weeks. Its attendees studied various topics: medicine and medical appointments, Russian cities and countries of the world, hobbies, entertainment and leisure, sports and many more. Besides, students studied the RSL grammar and the peculiarities of RSL interpretation.
Russian Sign Language is as comprehensive and developed as Russian, English or Chinese, but it is a visual language; each gesture carries a certain image and meaning. Sometimes gestures have several meanings, so articulation and emotionality are important components of RSL. Therefore, a lot of attention was paid to the development of these skills at the lessons.
Now our students can undertake an internship at the Astrakhan branch of the All-Russian Society of the Deaf, and they will also have an opportunity to become both volunteers and RSL interpreters.
We wish them good luck!
