Collaboration of CITS with Minsk State Linguistic University Gains Momentum

The 7th Republican research and practice forum of T & I teachers, practicing translators and interpreters Translatio in Meritis: From Learning to Practice took place at MSLU, Belarus. Nadezhda Emelianova, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, and Uliana Saveleva, Associate Professor of the Department of Philology, Linguodidactics and Translation Studies and Director of CITS, made presentations at the event.

Uliana Saveleva spoke about the application of experiential learning method in translation classes. This method involves immersion in professional experience and allows students to take on the roles of translators and to learn how to interact with customers taking into account both industry demands and individual preferences.

Nadezhda Emelianova presented the assessment criteria for evaluating group master’s projects developed by the teaching staff of the Department of Philology, Linguodidactics and Translation Studies. They help mark students’ graduation qualification projects objectively.

The presentations attracted interest and were the subject of further discussion.
