CITS Director Attends Annual Seminar of UN Information Centre

CITS Director Uliana Saveleva took part in an annual seminar held by the UN Information Centre together with the Linguistic Support Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry. This meeting is one of the most important platforms for discussion in the field of T & I training.

For twelve years, the seminar has been gathering the representatives of higher schools of interpreting and translation, translation companies, linguistic services of the UN and MFA Russia to discuss the issues of staffing and specifics of Russian translation and interpretation services in the UN offices, the quality of training translators and interpreters for foreign organizations at Russian universities, exchange of teaching experience, work plans and programs, methodology, standardization and practical aspects of teaching.

The meeting summarized the results of 2023 and outlined plans for 2024. In addition, university representatives shared their news; for example, CITS Director Uliana Saveleva shared the results of our MA students’ work, outlined current challenges in T & I training and specified plans for the coming year.
