PROmotion: Diplomatic Protocol as a Must-Have Skill for T & I StudentsВIt is a widely known fact that strict compliance with diplomatic protocol and etiquette is an obligatory requirement for interpreters and translators. Nevertheless, this subject is not always included into linguistics curricula. How can T & I students prepare for negotiations, official dinners and receptions? The Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation decided to fill this gap and to organize a lecture by an expert in professional etiquette and international business communication for ASU students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

At the end of December, CITS hosted a meeting with Associate Professor of the Department of International Law, Can.Sc. in Economics Irina Kalimullina.

The expert introduced the main definitions, principals and standards of modern business communication, talked about the business style for men and women, and shared secrets of proper look and behaviour during a job interview in big companies and corporations that work internationally. Our T & I students got plenty of useful information about dress code, appropriate make-up, and hairdo, and completed some tasks given by the speaker.
