CITS Trainer to Take Part in Translating Europe Forum 2020

In early November, the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission held an online conference Translating Europe Forum 2020, which is held annually in Brussels in the traditional format, but this year the event was held online due to the epidemiological situation in the world. Olga Egorova, trainer of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation, who has been a regular participant of the event since 2011, also attended the conference.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Platforms: Digital Ecosystems for Translation”. During the three-day conference, participants discussed issues related to various digital platforms and ecosystems and their impact on the translation profession. Specific translation problems that arise when communicating on digital platforms and on the Internet in general were discussed. The problems of digital business as well as the issues of translating the content of online stores and companies’ online pages deserved special attention. In addition, participants discussed the important topic of multilingualism as a success factor in business.
