CITS MA Students Went to Moscow to Take Traineeship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On February 17, second year MA students started their annual traineeship at the MFA Department of Linguistic Support. During two weeks, students will improve their translation and interpretation skills at a high level. After the first week, MA students shared their impressions. Every day they have an opportunity to learn from true professionals, such as Aleksey Fedorov and Yuri Kozlovsky. Besides, master students were acquainted with the ministerial terminology service and received a master class on English punctuation.
CITS students also had an opportunity to meet Dmitry Pankov, head of the Russian Translation Section of the IAEA in the Hague. Dmitry Pankov told about the work of an interpreter in this international organization. Last Thursday MA students managed to practice interpreting at a high level in the “dummy booth” during the weekly briefing held by Maria Zakharova, official Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
The next week of the traineeship will be devoted to interpretation. We wish our students good luck and look forward to their return!
