Linguists to Schools: CITS Director Meets Kamyzyak Schoolchildren

The 11th graders of the Kamizyak Secondary School No. 4 have met with CITS Director, Cand. Sc. in Philology, Associate Professor at the Department of English Philology Uliana Saveleva as part of the celebration of Russian Science Day.

At the meeting, the schoolchildren carried out a small scientific study in axiological linguistics; this science is concerned with the study of values and their manifestations in language. One group was asked to “draw” verbal portraits of a traitor, and the other, of a glamorous girl. The young linguistic researchers responded to the task eagerly: while playing, they learnt that it is not only useful, but also entertaining to be engaged in science.

The ASU representative also spoke about the opportunities for enrollment at the university and the modules offered.
