CITS Continues to PROmote ASU Students to Successful Employment
At the end of October, the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation hosted another event within the framework of the “PROmotion” project. The project aims to help intended ASU graduates in their future employment.
On this occasion, Alexandra Yakovleva, Advisor to the General Director for Public Relations of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Astrakhan LLC, shared her knowledge and skills with the students. Despite the fact that Alexandra studied at the Faculty of Foreign Languages at one time, she succeeded in a completely different field and has been working in public relations for a long time. The expert told the students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in which other industries, besides translation, they will be able to fulfill themselves and build a fruitful career.
Ekaterina Serebryakova, a leading specialist of the Personnel Department of LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft LLC, helped the students analyze their CVs, highlight their strengths and weaknesses, and identify the most important aspects of writing a CV to present themselves in a favorable light.
The participants appreciated the presentation of psychologist and trauma therapist Maria Kurennaya, who discussed with the audience the fear issues, including fear of failure in the profession and fear of competition. The students received a practical algorithm with recommendations to combat anxiety and feelings of fear. With the help of the conducted training exercises, the participants were able to analyze their goals related to their future profession and career, the possibilities of achieving them, as well as obstacles that might occur.
The “PROmotion” project won’t stop there. CITS plans to continue a series of meetings that are designed to help ASU graduates to find a job after graduation and build a career.
