Sharing Best Practices with Belarus Colleagues

From November 13 to 17, Elena Stefanova, a senior professor at the Department of Practice and Theory of Translation, Minsk State Linguistic University, took an internship at CITS to study the methods of teaching Russian Sign Language (RSL), as well as the methods of its interpretation.

During the internship, Elena Stefanova studied the basics of Russian Sign Language and the culture of the deaf, and attended RSL classes where she learned different methods of teaching sign language and studied materials useful in the teaching process.

In addition, a meeting was organized with representatives of the Astrakhan regional branch of the All-Russian Society of the Deaf. The Society staff told about the specifics of RSL interpretation and discussed the cooperation of ASU with the deaf community, which will have a positive effect on the development of inclusion in our region.
