CITS Opens RSL Conversation Club

Everyone knows that continuous speaking practice is very important in learning any language, especially with native speakers. On December 27, CITS opened I Can Hear You RSL conversation club; the opening was attended by both the deaf and hearing participants. The aim of the club is to develop and support the language skills of the RSL course graduates, to acquaint them with the specificity of the deaf community and to learn new things directly from its representatives, to have a good time and make friends while communicating.

The topic of the first meeting was the upcoming holiday – New Year and Christmas. The members got to know each other, discussed their plans for the weekend, sang Kaby ne bylo zimy (eng. If there were no winter), a well-known New Year song in RSL and made a video to greet deaf people in Astrakhan and all over Russia. The meeting lasted for a few hours and ended with a tea party. Thus, the club created a warm, friendly and festive atmosphere, and the participants were able to take another step towards bringing the deaf and hearing communities closer together.
