CITS to Actively Prepare for the 2nd Caspian Scientific and Educational Congress
Very soon, Astrakhan will see the 2nd Caspian Scientific and Educational Congress! It’s taking place on May 29-30 and will be attended by foreign partners of our region. CITS and the Faculty of Foreign Languages of ASU are actively preparing for the upcoming event.
This congress is not the first event to interpret for our students: earlier CITS master’s students and staff took part in the International Forum North – South ITC: a New Concept, Caspian Media Forum, International Forum Caspian Region 2023: Sustainable Development Trajectories and many others, with our interpreters always demonstrating a high level of training and expertise.
In order to effectively prepare for the upcoming event, individual and group training sessions are organized to discuss the specifics of the congress, learn subject terms and develop an interpretation strategy.
In addition, training sessions are held to put the interpreters in close-to-real situations.
The performance of each interpreter is analyzed during simultaneous interpretation, and then an individual training plan is developed. What is more, real-time simultaneous interpreting practice is organized, where the staff can put what they have learned into practice.
An important part of the training is to work with glossaries and terminology related to the specific topic of the event. The interpreters actively learn new terms, discuss their meanings and make relevant translations into the source language.
We are sure that proper training will pay off and our employees will provide high-quality interpretation at the upcoming event.
