Inclusive Linguistic Environment: Flow Arts Master Class by Caspian Lights Show Group
On August 25, the Caspian Lights Show Group gave a flow arts master class at Zvezdny Sports Complex within the framework of the CITS project Inclusive Linguistic Environment. CITS graduates provided interpretation of the event into Russian Sign Language.
What is ‘flow arts’? The show group members use this technique to handle props beautifully and spectacularly during a fire show. It helps to develop body control and flexibility. People with hearing impairments, who communicate using signs, facial expressions and pantomime, had no trouble mastering the technique. All the participants spoke well of the master class, and now they know everything about taming fire.
The CITS project Inclusive Linguistic Environment became the bridge between the hearing and deaf communities of Astrakhan, providing them with learning opportunities.
