Preparation for final exams!

The latest event of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation life was Liam Long’s visit. He came to take part in the aptitude test for new master program students.  Besides Liam Long gave classes of consecutive and simultaneous interpretation to the second year master students. During the first class, the students delivered consecutive interpretation of Liam’s speeches. The European Commission interpreter spoke on the FIFA corruption scandal and global warming problems. The following classes provided an opportunity for students to practice both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation. Liam Long commented on the students’ interpretation in details, highlighted the common mistakes and gave valuable feedback to avoid those mistakes in further practice. Final exams are approaching and the results will be the most important assessment of knowledge gained during the study at the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation. Having classes with Liam Long is a great opportunity to train before taking final exams. Students managed to ask the urgent questions concerning choice of words, sentence structures and interpreting of idiomatic phrases. We are looking forward to see Liam Long again!
