Another virtual class with the European Parliament!

This year November is quite rich in virtual classes! On 15th November we held another class with the European Parliament. Our master program students demonstrated a high level of training of interpreting from English into Russian and also from Russian into English. The European Parliament interpreter Ann Forder, known to many of our students, told us about FairTrade Products, and our teacher Nataliya Kabakova had chosen quite an interesting topic of cyberbulling.

We were also glad to hear the first year students interpreting both into Russian and into French, and the least type of work is much more difficult. The French speaker presented a speech about useful properties of birch and our Russian speaker Elena Yakovleva talked about the urgent issue of people’s dependence on social media, mobile phones and other attributes of modern life.

It was particularly pleasant to see Ilga Berzina, whom we all know very well, as a chairperson of the virtual class; she created a friendly atmosphere during the lesson and also gave useful feedback after each interpretation.

This November virtual class was the latest but not the last one as quite soon we’ll have classes with the London Metropolitan University and the European Commission!
