PjBRXF11V1YEverybody takes part in the organization of the Winter Olympic Games, which are starting in a matter of days in the Russian city of Sochi. Our University is no exception. We have already learnt the first news from our guys having decided to go to the Sochi Olympics as volunteers. We have received a letter from the teachers and students who will work with Japanese at the Olympics as coordinators (our teacher Alina Savinova, a coordinator of the TokyoTV Japanese company; our students Vladislav Anshekov and Sergey Gornostaev, NHK television company) and as volunteer interpreters (Irina Klimenko, Alena Kopylova, Mariya Karamysheva, Aynur Nuralieva and Bibigul Uteeva). Five people out of seven have already arrived and taken up their duties. The guys have a lot of work to do: some of them will work at the media center, the others will have to work “in the field” – in the Mountain Cluster, on the sports venues etc. We hope that our friends will show an appropriate level of interpretation and language competence and gain an unforgettable experience not only as interpreters but also as direct participants of the Winter Olympics in Russia. As for us, we’ll be waiting for their news and stories. We hope they’ll share with us all their emotions and impressions from the volunteer work at the Olympic Games.
