In early March 2015, an introductory meeting of the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) representatives with the Astrakhan business society was held at the Astrakhan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) as part of the Turkish business circles delegation’s visit to the Astrakhan region. The delegation, headed by the head of the TUKSON in Russia Ali Tyrnava, consisted of different businesses’ representatives interested in establishing partnership in shipbuilding, ship-repairing, residential building, mechanical engineering, instrumentation, production and realisation of vehicle components, food products and household cleaning products and agriculture with Russian businesses. During the meeting at the CCI, the entrepreneurs told about the areas they are interested in and discussed the prospects for collaboration.

Later in the day, the delegation held a meeting with the Vice Governor and the Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan Region Mr. Markelov and heads of sector ministries. During the meeting, Turkish businessmen and representatives of Astrakhan business circles showed their interest in collaboration in ship-repairing, shipbuilding and mechanical engineering as part of special economic zone LOTUS.
