At the end of the year everybody starts summing up: someone is still trying to fulfill the work plan, someone is retaking his/her failed tests at the university, and the luckiest ones are making plans for the New Year celebration. But MA students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpretation and Translation don’t even think of having a rest! Now they are in Moscow having practice in the Linguistic Support Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The two week practice has turned to be quite busy: the students spent the first week in the Translation Department where they had an opportunity to translate real documents dealt by the Ministry staff; during the second week dedicated to interpreting our undergraduates both were practicing consecutive and simultaneous interpretation and getting a detailed information about peculiarities of the Ministry interpreters’ work. They learnt a lot of interesting stories told by experienced interpreters who worked with Boris Yeltsin, Dmitry Medvedev, Vladimir Putin and other distinguished politicians of our country. Quite soon the students will come back and we hope that they’ll tell us about all interesting and important points of their practice in detail.

And now they are just giving us their regards and they’re glad to share their emotions and impressions: “Our traineeship in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is very useful for us. We succeeded both in learning a lot of shades in theory and in approving ourselves “in practice” and, which is the most pleasant thing, we received positive feedbacks from the professionals. We’d like to thank everyone who was working with us during these two weeks, to thank them for the experience they shared with us and also for the experience we gained due to their help. And of course we’d like to express a special gratitude to Olga Egorova, the head of our Institute, for the opportunity to gain such a wonderful interpretation experience and to represent the Caspian Higher School of Interpretation and Translation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation”.
