Astrakhan State University Team Is a Champion of the International Universiade

The 12^th International Universiade on the Persian language was held on the 21^st – 22^nd of January 2016 at Lomonosov Moscow State University. It consisted of four tasks: translation, listening, essay and interpretation. Two students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages – Albert Yagudeev (the 4^th year student) and Yuvenaliy Serykh (the 2^nd year student) presented the team of Astrakhan State University. Both students performed all the tasks and gained the biggest amount of points. They left behind them 11 Universities – participants including MSU, SPbSU, MGIMO, PFUR, MSLU, KazNU and others and our team took the 1^st place.

This year the Universiade was hosted by the Cultural representation at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia and The Institute of Asian and African Countries at MSU involving not only Russian Universities but also the Universities of the CIS. The Universiade held All-Russian Persian language Olympiad status since 2006 to 2016. The ASU students are constantly participating in this event and have regularly won.
