CITS Celebrates Its Professional Holiday with Colleagues-to-be
On September 29, the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation held the 1st T&I Games, an entertaining event for students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in celebration of the International Translation Day. Schoolchildren who are keen on foreign languages and are eager to commit themselves to them also took part in the games.
Having drawn lots, the participants were divided into 3 teams named after outstanding linguists – L. Barkhudarov, A. Shveitser, and V. Komissarov. The teams had five stations to pass, each invited them to complete the tasks on testing their T & I skills: Jeopardy, I Am Editor, CITS Production, Skilled Hands, and Synchronized Swimmers.
The participants tried themselves as simultaneous interpreters and audiovisual translators, post editors, and even Russian Sign Language interpreters. The teams coped with all tasks very well and received pleasant gifts. We hope the experience gained by the students and schoolchildren will be helpful in their future professional activity.
