High-Level Interpretation: CITS Graduates Interpret Heads of State
Unique footage came to us from sunny Turkey! Liliya Petrova-Biri, a CITS graduate, recently got a unique opportunity to provide simultaneous interpretation at a closed conference within the working visit of President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the Akkuyu NPP construction site; the facility is going to be the first nuclear power plant in Turkey. During the meeting, the Head of the State emphasized that the facility is being built with the cutting-edge and safest technologies. The nuclear power plant is expected to generate electricity for 60 years. It is planned that it will cover 10% of the Turkey’s energy demand.
Liliya Petrova-Biri heads the Linguistic Support Department at TITAN2 İÇ İÇTAŞ İNŞAAT A.Ş., the general contractor of the project. Along with Liliya, other CITS graduates Maria Resnyanskaya and Ekaterina Natkhina are also working on the project, providing interpretation and translation services.
