Cooperation on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space: a Virtual Class with Nikolay TelnovOn July 22, the MA students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation had an opportunity to participate in a virtual class given by Nikolay Telnov, an interpreter of the Russian booth of the UN Office in Vienna. The expert gives master classes in our School on a regular basis, and this time he met with the students “virtually”, having delivered a 2-hour training on sight interpretation. The documents that Nikolay had chosen for interpreting were rather relevant and related to UNISPACE+50, that was held on June 20 and 21 in Vienna and was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first conference “UNISPACE I” on exploration and peaceful uses of outer space. Large-scale events, organized by the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first conference “UNISPACE I”, serve as a platform for supporting and developing the cooperation of UN member states on space exploration, launching joint projects on rocket and space equipment development and implementation of international programs.
