CITS Graduate Tells Her Future Colleagues about the Benefits of Volunteering
On May 5, MA students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation met with CITS graduate Polina Karabalaeva.
Studying at CITS, Polina undertook traineeships at EU institutions, WIPO and the UN, and was also actively involved in volunteering. She spoke about the benefits of volunteering and shared her personal experience at the meeting. Polina is still a volunteer. Our graduate told the students about her experience in volunteering at the FIFA Arab Cup which was held in Qatar in 2021.
MA students also learned about the Volunteer Centre Association which gives the opportunity to participate in events of various scale. Polina dwelled on the steps that need to be passed in order to become a volunteer, told the students about the upcoming events they can take part in as volunteers and about the selection requirements for candidates.
At the end of the meeting, Polina also answered the questions and mentioned the regional volunteer activities, stressing again the relevance and benefits of such activities for MA students. Polina suggested that the students didn’t miss such opportunities and took an active part in volunteer projects.
