CITS and WIPO Complete Another Stage of Joint Project

Astrakhan State University continues successful cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). This time, students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages took part in the project to replenish the WIPO Pearl terminology database. This was their first experience, and it turned out to be incredibly successful!

The guys did a tremendous job under the careful guidance of Uliana Saveleva, Director of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting & Translation (CITS).

The results were excellent: 85% of the proposed terms were verified by WIPO experts for publication on the WIPO Pearl terminology portal. It is important to note that the work was done with highly specialized terminology in the fields of oil and gas, and mining.

In the middle of the project, WIPO representatives from Geneva held a master class for our students, where they answered all the questions and explained everything in detail. All students passed the exam on the terminology course and received certificates.
