CITS Holds Welcome Days for Its Prospective Students

On April 25 and 26, the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation held four welcome-day events, attended by students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages who are about to complete their Bachelor and Specialist programmes. At the event, the trainers and staff of CITS spoke about the life of the school, its partners, MA programmes offered, as well as the application process and entrance examinations.

In addition, potential applicants participated in a workshop on simultaneous interpretation. First, they were invited to listen to the interpretation which collected the most common mistakes of novice interpreters, and then to give their feedback. The students got actively involved in the discussion on mistakes and exercises for correcting them, and then listened to professional interpretation of the same speech.

Using this exercise as an example, students learnt more about the features of simultaneous interpretation and got practical advice from the professionals. The workshop proved once again that nothing is impossible: after two years of studying in our MA programme, students can cope with any difficulties and master the challenging craft of interpretation, and the qualified trainers and interpreters of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation will help them with it.
